As a student of military history and the American Civil War, I find that the process of researching and writing short essays provides greater enjoyment and deeper understanding of history. The American Civil War has been a particular interest for many years. The main areas of interest are strategy, logistics, and the confederate high command. In military history, my strongest interest is in the horse and musket era, about 1700-1900.
I am a cartographer and surveyor, and work for a public mapping agency in California.
